About Us
The Myers Park High School Rocket Girls Club was created as way to inspire and empower young women to pursue careers in STEM fields that are primarily dominated by men. With incredible opportunities for women to study STEM in high school and college, Rocket Girls is a way to give young women the opportunity to test out a field in STEM in a fun, encouraging, and collaborative environment.

As a club, we design, build, and launch rockets together as well as conduct experiments and participate in local competitions to exhibit our work and learn from others designs. We strive to learn more about the different aspects of Rocketry as a group and are always striving to think more outside the box and create better designs. Through our club, our members become more well rounded in their STEM related knowledge and gain the confidence needed to thrive in a male dominated field.

Only 25% of STEM careers are taken by women . Our vision is that we can inspire a new generation of young women to pursue these careers and increase this number!
